Heimo Roselli started making Nordic style puukko knives inspired by a need for better tools for wood carving.
Roselli himself has stated that “A puukko does not need to be beautiful, whereas a jewel needs to be beautiful.” The key elements of a Roselli product are its focus on practicality and excellent materials. In true blacksmith traditions, special care has been taken in choosing and developing the steel from which the blades are made. Roselli has, for example, made a line of “UHC” knives, with a very high portion of the carbon in the steel. Roselli knives have a good balance between sharpening ability and keeping the blade sharp.
Although a Roselli puukko is always engineered and made with practicality in mind, they are also a favorite among gift ideas.
