A tarp about three meters on each side, is a versatile shelter. It can be set up in many different ways, either as your main shelter, as a canopy in front of your tent’s door, on top of a hammock, or to provide shelter during a break of a rainy or hot day. The symmetrical shape allows for the most versatile setup options.

There are a total of 16 attachment points on the sides, and one in the middle, offering extra support.

When using the tarp as a hammock canopy, you can choose either the regular ridgeline pitch shown in the main image, or the longer corner-to-corner style.

The material is 70 denier ripstop fabric, and the attachment points are designed with durability in mind: unlike ultralight tarps, this tarp can be expected to offer a very nice service life. Ultralight versions often use fabrics in the 20 or even 15 denier range.

The size is perfect for one or two hikers.

‘Laavu’ is the Finnish version of the Sámi word ‘lávvu’, which refers to a transportable shelter they used when herding reindeer.
