Solid foundations
Rab Carrington built Rab on two core principles: a deep understanding of what climbers and mountaineers actually need, and a focus on making gear that simply works. That straightforward, honest approach still guides the design and testing process today, and it ties what is now a large company firmly to its modest beginnings in 1980s Sheffield.
Rab today
Rab is one of the fastest-growing outdoor brands in the world. Its products are constantly developed, and even long-standing favourites get an update when there’s good reason for one. A growing share of the materials are recycled.
Modern production
76% of the energy used at Rab’s production facilities comes from renewable sources. In 2025, 82% of the fabrics Rab bought were made from recycled fibre. In 2024, 62% of Rab’s down products were made with recycled down.
