Nemo Hornet Elite Osmo 2p

The Nemo Osmo Elite is a further development of the Osmo Ultralight, and amps things up to the extreme, with fine-tuned detail. The poles in this model are top notch: DAC Featherlite and the floor is just a touch thinner than in the Ultralight model. The Osmo fabric stretches only a third of the level of many competitors when wet, is very light and does not contain PFAS compounds.

As the Osmo 2P Elite is so light, it is worth considering for solo hikers who value extra space.

The Hornet is a semi-standing design: as soon as the poles are connected to the inner tent, the inner tent reaches its full form, but using the vestibules requires pegs. The minimalist pole structure keeps the weight and pack size under control: in the additional photo, the tent pack is next to a 1-liter water bottle for size comparison. The Flybar pole section creates a little extra space in the tent.

With such a light tent, it is wise to act a little more careful than usual with sharp objects, abrasive surfaces and also with the wind: choose a relatively sheltered campsite if a strong wind is expected.
