• Cleaning: add a splash of water to the pan, bring to a boil, and clean with a spatula and paper towel. Then dry the pan and lightly oil it with cooking oil.

When you take the Muurikka Leisku into use, first clean it with hot water or mild detergent, then heat the pan dry and season it: wipe the entire pan with a very, very thin layer of cooking oil or lard. Heat it with a gas burner, electric grill, embers, or an open fire until the fat darkens and dries onto the pan, at least in the center. The polymerized fat protects the pan and reduces food sticking. However, when cooking with a pan like this, the best way to reduce sticking is good heat control and using enough fat.
