Muurikka Leisku – A high-quality, heavier campfire frying pan – let pancakes, bacon, and steaks beware! The handle is long enough so you don’t have to keep your hand too close to the flames.
When you take the Muurikka Leisku into use, first clean it with hot water or mild detergent, then heat the pan dry and season it: wipe the entire pan with a very, very thin layer of cooking oil or lard. Heat it with a gas burner, electric grill, embers, or an open fire until the fat darkens and dries onto the pan, at least in the center. The polymerized fat protects the pan and reduces food sticking. However, when cooking with a pan like this, the best way to reduce sticking is good heat control and using enough fat.
