Icebug offers two main traction solutions in its winter footwear: shoes with grip soles and shoes with metal studs. Grip soles are convenient for everyday use, like visiting shops, while studded shoes offer the best traction on ice.

Dynamic Studs

The dynamic studs in Icebug’s BuGrip models—previously marketed as “intelligent studs”—slightly retract on very hard surfaces. This allows the rubber sole to make contact with the ground, unlike traditional studded shoes, which can be dangerously slippery on hard floors like tile. Keep in mind that studded shoes can damage many indoor floor materials, but fortunately Icebug also offers Shoe Covers that can be slipped on when heading indoors.
