Avalanche backpacks
Backpacks equipped with avalanche airbags work either with a compressed gas cylinder or with an electrically powered fan system. They improve the chances of survival if caught in an avalanche by helping the user stay closer to the surface of the moving snow.
How to choose the right ski backpack
- Choose the volume: A 20-liter backpack is a traditional daypack size, but for winter use many people opt for a 30-liter pack as well.
