A beeswax-based wax for treating Fjällräven G-1000 products.

Fjällräven’s cotton-polyester fabric (65% polyester, 35% cotton) works well even without a wax coating, but if you want to enhance the fabric’s wind resistance and water repellency, you can treat the garment with this wax. The treatment also extends the fabric’s lifespan.

Note! When Fjällräven products come from the factory, the wax coating is uniform and evenly colored. Products waxed at home tend to have a slightly rougher appearance. This is normal.

Many Fjällräven and other manufacturers’ cotton-polyester garments now also feature stretch fabric panels. Do not apply wax to stretch panels. Stretch fabrics cannot withstand the heat treatment required for waxing.

How to apply:

The wax is rubbed directly onto the fabric’s surface and melted into the fabric using an iron or a hairdryer. It is advisable to apply an extra layer of wax to the seams. You can adjust the thickness of the coating and the use of wax in different parts of the garment: for example, if you want to prioritize breathability, you can leave the underarm area completely unwaxed.

When melting the wax, the appropriate heat source temperature is 130-140 ºC. When the temperature is right, you can clearly see the wax melting. If desired, you can apply multiple layers of wax, melting it in between - four layers is about the maximum recommended amount.
