A ski jacket for every occasion

There are two main types of ski jackets: padded and shell. A padded ski jacket contains wadding insulation. Shell-type jackets, on the other hand, are worn over base and midlayers that can be changed depending on the weather, and the shell jacket itself is quite ascetic. The advantage of a shell jacket is that it does not contain moisture-absorbing material, and doesn’t feel too hot when ascending.

Virtually all of the ski jackets we sell are suitable for use on the slopes. Shell-type jackets are the most common choice for touring, because even though downhill runs require additional insulation, sometimes you have to push yourself uphill for a long time, which often makes a padded jacket far too hot. Especially on multi-day excursions, it is important to avoid soaking your insulation layer with sweat.

Functional detail

The details of the ski jackets include a snow gaiter at the waist and, for example, a lift pass pocket on the sleeve. While these are useful for skiing, but do not hinder the use of the jacket as an everyday winter jacket - many ski jackets also end up being used for other purposes. The hoods of ski jackets are sized to be spacious enough to allow you to wear a ski helmet underneath.
