Women's Hiking jackets

Practical details

Women’s trekking jackets are designed with the shoulder straps and hip belts of packs and rucksacks in mind: the pockets are placed so you can reach them without trouble even with a pack on your back. If you head out in windy fell and coastal conditions, pay attention to the hood as well: a well-adjustable hood with a proper brim protects you from the wind in a completely different way than a lightweight hood that packs into the collar.

For the trails and everyday wear

A classic, field-jacket-style trekking jacket always looks sharp in town too, and thanks to their comfort these trekking jackets often end up being their owner’s favourite garment. More modern women’s trekking jackets, with stretch panels and quick-access chest pockets, create a sportier look. Our range also includes roomier D-cut and plus-size women’s trekking jackets.

Cotton-polyester, with or without wax

Several manufacturers use cotton-polyester fabrics in their women’s trekking jackets, and these jackets are supplied wax-treated. The wax improves the fabric’s wind resistance and adds a touch of protection against moisture. Wear and washing gradually remove the wax — at that point you can choose whether to wear the jacket unwaxed, so it breathes even better, or to treat it with Fjällräven Greenland Wax.
