Back country touring boots are well padded and they are most often equipped with either SNS BC or NNN BC soles for compatibility with SNS BC or NNN BC bindings. BC (short for back country) bindings have a wider, sturdier structure than regular Nordic bindings, making for increased ruggedness and ski control.
