The Rintamus (Finnish for front/chest) bag is a nifty way to carry small items that you want to keep close at hand. It is just as suitable as part of a tactical kit as it is for carrying binoculars and a notebook when observing nature.

You can carry the Rintamus bag using its own straps, or by attaching it to the shoulder straps or side compression straps of your backpack. The Rintamus’s own straps are of a low-profile design, so that it can also be used with the shoulder straps of a backpack.

In guaranteed Savotta style, the material is an extremely strong and abrasion-resistant Cordura fabric. Its polyurethane treatment on the inside keeps out light drizzle, but in heavy rain, you’ll want to protect your equipment with a dry bag.

Compared to the shoulder bags that have become fashionable in recent years, the Rintamus stays in place well, as the two shoulder straps and an additional strap that wraps around the body prevent swaying.
