The Alphaglide excels on runs across a variety of surfaces. In terms of cushioning, it offers a great balance between ground feel and impact absorption: this is not a specialized shoe at either extreme, but a capable all-rounder.

The Alphaglide is also a great choice for walking and brisk hiking—and one of the industry’s open secrets is that many trail running shoes also end up being used as everyday shoes, thanks to their excellent comfort.

As with many other Salomon running shoes, the Alphaglide features the so-called SensiFit structure. It enables a sock-like fit, as the laces tighten the shoe very evenly around your feet.
