A highly packable summer pad, still with 8 cm thickness. Long and wide model.
Modern airpads combine great comfort with temperature-specific insulation. As this model has pretty much no insulation and is made purely for summer use, it boasts a very compact packing size and low weight. The generous thickness helps with comfort: you won’t want to fill the pad too much. It’s a good idea to invest a bit of time to find a comfortable level of inflation.
This is the second development version of the Ultrasphere 1.5 sleeping pad, released in spring 2026. Compared to the previous model, the new construction has reduced the weight by a couple of dozen grams, even though the R-value is slightly improved: 1.4 instead of the earlier 1.3.
We highly recommend inflating the pad with the included pumpsack, as this minimizes the amount of moisture the pad takes in. Inflating by blowing would be an ok idea if it wasn’t for the amount of moisture in your exhaled air.
