A sleeping bag for extreme cold, with heat-reflecting liner. -28°C.

Rab uses TILT technology in its popular Andes series. TILT means that the liner fabric has titanium (yes, you read that correctly), and reflects the user’s heat back toward the body. In the hood and neck area, as well as in the footbox, the outer material is Gore Windstopper, which protects the down from moisture caused by breathing and from frost that may accumulate on the inside of a tent.

Considering its warmth, the Andes Windstopper 1000 is astonishingly light and compact — a perfect choice for trips with many kilometers and/or lots of elevation gain.

The down chambers are shaped to keep the down as evenly distributed as possible, preventing cold spots.

The bag is filled with 800 fp down, which is top-tier quality. Different baffle constructions are used in different parts of the bag to keep the insulation exactly where it’s needed. Because bags this warm no longer show reliably differentiated results in EN-standard testing, Rab has specified its own value for the coldest sleeping temperature: –23 °C. This is not the extreme temperature, but rather the coldest temperature at which you should still be able to sleep.

  • Bag length 225 cm
  • Max. width 95 cm
  • Down is treated with a Grangers water-resistant finish — the bag retains its insulating ability far better than bags filled with untreated down
  • Down fill weight: 1000 g
  • Highly protective hood
  • Internal draft collar
  • Small zippered inner pocket
  • Main zipper is a 3/4-length YKK zipper
  • A generous draft tube along the zipper prevents heat loss

Includes both a drybag-style stuff sack for trips and a spacious storage sack for home use.

This bag has a left-side zipper, which is the most common choice for right-handed users.
