The fabric of the Kangri jacket is thicker than that of the lightest shell jackets, enhancing its service life. The three-layer shell jacket is a durable choice for the hard-working hiker, even all year round: in summer it handles the work of a raincoat and in other seasons, with the help of suitable base and mid layers, serves as a general use shell.

You’ll typically wear long sleeve base and/or mid layers with this type of jacket, but when you use it to fend off a sudden summer rain shower, you can also don it on top of a tee shirt - the inner material is somewhat more comfortable than in the most ascetic models out there.
What’s new: this product is now made with Gore-Tex ePE, meaning it does not contain PFC in any form. Another update is the new surface fabric which brings the jacket’s weight below 400 grams.
The Kangri is right at home even in demanding use in highland areas, mountains and windy shorelines, but once you get a jacket like this, it may well find its way to your sporty everyday garderobe.
