Rab Women's Downpour Light Jacket

Rab produces different versions of its most popular garments – this is the lightweight model of the excellent Downpour shell jacket. This pleasantly light jacket works from spring to autumn and packs down to a very small size when needed. The weight has been reduced to around a couple hundred grams by using a thinner outer fabric (20D Proflex instead of 50D Pertex) and refining the details: for instance, a simpler hood adjustment saves a few grams.

The jacket features a so-called 2.5-layer structure: inside the outer fabric is a membrane, and on the inside of that, a minimalist lining material. The structure is very light and compressible. Unlike most 2.5-layer products, this jacket is also comfortable to wear over a short-sleeved shirt thanks to its pleasant feel against the skin.

This type of jacket is at its best in outdoor activities, hiking, and exercise when you are not carrying a heavy backpack or rucksack.

To keep your shell jacket in top form, it’s wise to use a quality detergent and DWR product. We recommend Grangers Wash Concentrate and Repel Plus products for the job!
