The Apex structure hidden inside the air compartments prevents air from circulating - this way the air heated by your body stays in place.
When using such a light pad, it is worth paying extra attention to avoid sharp objects, as the surface fabric is not super strong.

When deflating the pad, it is better to use patience instead of force: if you try to squeeze the air out faster than it can escape from the valve, you may damage the pad.
The minimum weight only includes the pad. The normal weight also includes a packing bag, pump bag, a piece of Velcro and a couple of patches.
