The Laavu (Finnish for a lean-to shelter or transportable, somewhat tipi like shelter) puukko knife has a fresh, modern design, but the basic nature of the knife is preserved: it is a Nordic all-purpose tool for hikers and wilderness enthusiasts, with which you can carve handsome feathered sticks, gut a fish, open food packaging etc. etc.. The blade is made of stainless steel and is quite carefree to use. We recommend a diamond sharpener for sharpening.

The drop point-shaped blade has a section on the back side that works well with a separately purchased ferro rod. While the ferro rod comes with its own striker, using a knife is much more comfortable.
