Marttiini Condor Pioneer with Ferro Rod

Using the ferro rod takes a bit of practice. A common beginner’s mistake is to move too quickly and too lightly; the correct movement is slower and a little more forceful. Note! Pressing too hard can break the rod, so approach the correct use of force from the gentle side, gradually increasing the force.

The striker is attached to the same lanyard with the rod. Feel its different sides with your finger: this way you will find the “biting” surface you’ll want to use to get the sparks flying.
