This Pro model differs from the basic model: it has enhanced grip in its handles, and can be mounted on your backpack’s shoulder straps while the base model is strung around your neck.
When moving on natural ice, always carry equipment that can help you get out of the water if the ice breaks beneath you. NOTE: Never go on natural ice alone.
The plastic protective case contains two ice claws, with GRIP ICE CLAWs attached to a cord that goes around your neck. A separate whistle is included in the price.
Always keep the claws in their case when not in use.
Before use: Check that the ice claws are intact and functional. Replace the product after five years of use. After five years, update to a new product.
When in use: Attach GRIP ICE CLAW PROs to the shoulder strap of your backpack.
How to get out of the ice: Always get up from the same spot where you fell in. Remove the claws from their case.
- Hold the claws so that the spikes point downward against the ice and firmly strike them into the ice.
- Work with the claws close to your body. Use them as handles to pull yourself out of the water.
- Blow the whistle to call for help. Roll or crawl away from the hole before standing up.
After use: Dry the claws and place them back in the case.
Storage and transport: Store the product in a dark, dry place at room temperature. Always transport them in their own plastic case.
