The HM61R V3.0 is a versatile choice: it works just as well as a flashlight as it does a headlamp. Around camp, for instance, the red light is handy in many ways: it preserves your night vision and doesn’t attract insects.

Inside the light there’s an 18650-type Li-ion battery that’s easy to swap out when needed. If one battery’s charge isn’t enough, you can buy a spare, or use separately purchased CR123A batteries as a backup power source.
