Tuvegga is the most versatile base layer in our selection for cold-weather hiking, skiing, freeriding, and other outdoor activities. Its unique construction allows for two different uses: when you wear the smooth side against the skin, it works best for intense activity where efficient moisture transfer to the outer layers is crucial. When you wear the textured side against the skin, it traps as much body-warmed air as possible close to the skin for maximum insulation. In the areas that sweat the most, such as underarms and back, there are mesh-like, thinner panels for improved breathability.
Merino wool also works well when damp: while many synthetic fabrics quickly feel cold when you stop for a break or set up camp, merino wool can often be “dried on the body” – just put on an insulating jacket over it.
The odor-resistant properties of merino wool and its low need for washing are highly valuable in frequent use and on long trips.
