The Backland 109 is incredibly light considering the performance it delivers. If you’re looking for freeride touring skis for the backcountry, the Backland should not be overlooked. At 109 mm wide, it’s a width many consider perfect for a freeride touring ski. This carbon-reinforced ski combines a tip rocker with Atomic’s HRZN technology, which increases the tip’s surface area by 10% without sacrificing stiffness. Unlike many skis of this light weight, the Backland 109 has a full sidewall, providing stability in firmer snow conditions.
