An underquilt is more practical than using a sleeping pad with your hammock: it stays in its place, and you avoid having to align a slippery pad between a slippery sleeping bag and a slippery hammock.
Unlike sleeping bags, quilts don’t have standardized temperature rating tests. The manufacturer refers to this product’s warmth by saying it should be fine down to just below freezing temperatures.
