NeoAir pads have astounded hikers for a couple of decades, with their ingenious structure: Their insides are filled with ultralight separating walls (Triangular Core Matrix), stopping air from circulating between spots warmed by your body and spots in contact with cold outside air. The result is that this compact and very light pad is warm enough for year-round use.

Xlite pads are lighter and less insulated than Xtherm pads, making them great for three season exploration, and mild winter nights especially when used on top of a foam pad.

The downside of the baffle structure has been that NeoAir pads have made a rattling sound when tossing and turning, but this new Xlite NXT pad makes a fraction of the sound of the original models. It is also thicker than the previous version, without any weight penalties. The term “MAX” in the product name refers to the rectangular shape of the mat, as opposed to the tapered foot design of the standard model.

Always inflate the pad with the included pump sack or separate pump. You could inflate it by blowing, but this introduces moisture, which accumulates in the pad, with no way out.
