Warm self-inflating sleeping mat, R-value 4.2.
Many self-inflating mats run out of warmth once the nights get properly cold. The insulation in the Sea to Summit SI mat easily handles a light frost, the kind you’re likely to wake up to on an autumn hike. In milder climates like the UK, it’s warm enough for plenty of winter nights too.
This Camp model uses 75-denier fabric on both the top and the base, so it handles heavy use.
- Regular size: 183 x 51 x 3.5 cm
- The smart valve makes the mat easy to adjust: once the mat has drawn in as much air as it can on its own, you can top it up with a breath or two. Just don’t blow it up too firm
- The PillowLock system holds a compatible Sea to Summit pillow (sold separately) in place
A self-inflating mat is simple to use. When you make camp, take the mat out of its stuff sack, open the valve and lay it out on dry ground, clear of sharp twigs and other objects. While you set up camp, the foam inside expands back to its original shape and fills the mat with air. Finish it off with a breath or two, close the valve and you’re ready for the night.
When you break camp, open the valve and roll the air out of the pad. Note! Don’t use a lot of force, or try to empty the pad too fast, instead, let the air exit without forcing.
At home, always store the mat unrolled with the valve open. If you keep it packed in its stuff sack, the foam loses its loft and the mat will no longer inflate by itself.
