With a sleeping pad made of such light fabrics, it’s wise to be especially careful about your campsite: clean the ground of sharp objects and consider using a lightweight foam pad under the air pad.

When inflating such a mattress, it is always a good idea to use a pump, either the base’s own pump bag or a separate electric pump. Inflating by blowing introduces moisture into the base, which over time can cause mold problems and even failure of the base’s internal adhesives.
