A self-inflating pad packs into a small space and provides better sleeping comfort than a foam pad. When arriving at camp, you unroll the pad and open the valve. The pad slowly starts to fill up and after a while you can blow a couple more lungfuls of air before closing the valve. In the morning, just open the valve and roll the pad up!
