The Surface jacket is a so-called two-layer jacket: On the inside of the outer fabric is a waterproof, windproof, and breathable polyurethane membrane. Against the skin, there’s a combination lining: mesh around the torso and smooth fabric in the sleeves to make putting it on easier. The jacket is comfortable enough to wear with a short-sleeved shirt—unlike some more rugged alternatives.
