The Marmot Minimalist has long offered impressive performance, especially considering its price. Now, instead of the previous Gore-Tex Paclite, the Minimalist is made from Pertex Shield, bringing the jacket even closer to its name by reducing its weight.
The jacket features a 2.5-layer construction, making it lightweight, flexible, and highly packable. When wearing a 2.5-layer jacket, it is generally recommended to use a long-sleeved base layer for added comfort. However, in summer rain, a T-shirt can also work.
Familiar features from the previous model include an adjustable hood, underarm ventilation zippers, and Velcro-adjustable cuffs, allowing for easy ventilation or complete weather protection depending on the conditions.
The Minimalist Pertex is an excellent choice for hiking and outdoor activities in spring and autumn, and serves well as a rain backup during summer adventures.
