The appearance of Kupilka products is created by industrial designer Heikki Koivurova, whose style combines an earthy attitude with beautiful yet practical design.

In the Kalevala, snakes and especially the viper is mentioned often, and they have been feared and protected against with various spells and magic. On the other hand, the viper was believed to have magical cures for diseases. Around the world, the snake has been considered a symbol of the cycle of life: the snake is able to give birth to new life, renews itself by creating its skin, falls into hibernation for the winter and wakes up again in the warmth of spring.
