The Forerunner 170 Music, part of the popular Forerunner series, released in spring 2026, guides and supports your training. Gaining fitness requires the right rhythm of exercise and rest, and the Forerunner’s advanced features guide you to do the workout that best develops your fitness every day - and guides you to just rest when it’s the best thing to do.
This Music version boasts a practical music function, enabling you to use the watches user interface for controlling your listening experience.
The Forerunner 170 GPS running smartwatch has everything you need for increasing your running fitness and is also suitable for beginner runners, even those who still walk a big proportion of the time. In addition, it boasts the Garmin Cycling coach Daily training recommendations are based on your body condition and previous workouts, e.g. by monitoring heart rate variability, and if a good workout is followed by a bad night’s sleep, the next day’s program is automatically adjusted.
The Forerunner 170 also works in other activities and sports, with 80 sport profiles included, including cycling, swimming and strength training.
When exercising outdoors, the Forerunner 170 tracks your speed and records your route using GPS, and the watch captures heart rate data directly from your wrist. It is also compatible with a separate heart rate belt.
