The Fischer BCX Magnum’s base plate is an impressive 67 mm wide. Together with the 42 mm toe bar of the NNN BC standard, this improves the ski or skate’s lateral control.
The manual locking mechanism has proven to be the most reliable choice in variable conditions: ice that accumulates here and there responds well to the hand-operated lever but can jam an automatic binding.
