Exped Dura 10 R Medium Wide

The 10 cm thick Dura 10R uses Exped’s Downmat technology: inside the air chambers, a down fill prevents air from circulating between the areas warmed by your body and those cooled by the outside air. The R-value describing the insulation is 10, and the lowest temperature recommended by the manufacturer is below -40ºC.

The Dura series has more durable outer fabrics than other R pads: against the sleeper there is a 75 denier fabric, and on the underside a 170 denier ripstop – a considerable difference compared to the 20–40 denier fabrics of ultralight pads.

• Medium Wide size: 183 cm long, 65 cm wide
• Insulated with fill power 650 duck down

A Schnozzel pump bag is included, so you can inflate the pad without having to blow into it. Blowing introduces unwanted moisture inside the pad, and using the pump bag also reduces the risk of getting light-headed.

Exped’s three pad families in brief: Ultra: the lightest outer fabrics, small packed size. Versa: a basic model suited to versatile use. Dura: a reinforced base fabric for demanding conditions or frequent use. The number next to the R indicates warmth: it is the rounded R-value. 1 for summer use, 2–3 for hiking on snow-free ground, 4 and above also for winter use.
