Wilderness region behind the Lake Inari. Waterproof product.

Between Lake Inari and the Norwegian border lies a stony mosaic of pine forests, mires, and hundreds of small ponds, a landscape that drives away all but the most experienced hikers. In the northeast rises the Vätsäri fell ridge, whose birch forests were destroyed by an outbreak of autumnal moth caterpillars. The stony fjords of Lake Inari push deep into the wilderness, where a way of life based on traditional livelihoods still continues. The waters are rich in fish species, including whitefish, lake trout, Arctic char, and grayling. Paddlers favor the narrow fjords and make use of the portage routes between lakes. Routasenkuru is almost a legend. The Piilola Trail connects Vätsäri to Norway’s Øvre Pasvik National Park.

The map is printed on Tyvek material, which is waterproof and tear-resistant. There is no need to protect the map from rain, and it will not rip during use. The manufacturer guarantees the material can withstand 20,000 folds. Thanks to the ingenious sheet division, all the key destinations of the area fit on a single map.
