All text in Finnish. A guide book from the Pallas-Yllästunturi region.
All text in this book is in Finnish.
In Pallas, Metsä Lapland changes to Fell Lapland, when the pine trees and dead standing trees meet the treeless highlands.
Fell hikes have been enjoyed here for almost a century. Today, Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park and the Hetta-Pallas hiking trail are among the most popular in the entire country. The unique fell nature, stunning scenic trails and first-class services attract hundreds of thousands of nature enthusiasts every year.
The guidebook presents 46 day trip routes and 3 hiking trails. They include the national park and its surrounding summer hiking trails and destinations, as well as the marked hiking trails of Hetta and Levi. Divided into four geographical sections, the book also delves into the nature and history of the region and provides hiking tips.
Tommi Sirviö, M.A., a natural geographer from Helsinki, teaches geography and biology. He has been hiking trails for decades in Finland, Northern Scandinavia and the Himalayas. Sirviö has previously written hiking guides for Calazo for Northern Lapland, Hossa and Kylmäluoma, North Karelia, Repovesi and Nuuksio, as well as part of the Helsinki region hiking guide.
