Jouni Laaksonen is a non-fiction author, wilderness guide and Master of Science in Engineering who lives in Kuhmo and is devoted to the outdoors. He has explored the northern wilderness and hiking destinations many times over and written some twenty books and hundreds of magazine articles about his experiences. Laaksonen is especially drawn to wilderness areas, long treks, national parks, day hikes with the family and wilderness huts.
