A test winner, now even better: the Big Agnes Rapide SL insulates better than before, and it’s lighter too. The outer air chambers are 11 cm thick and the centre chambers 9 cm, which adds to your sleeping comfort.
The R-value is ample for three-season use. Paired with a closed-cell foam pad underneath, it also handles light winter use.

Always inflate a pad like this with a pump, either the included pump sack or a separate one. Blowing it up by mouth puts moisture inside the pad, which over time can lead to mould and even cause the internal bonding to fail. See our pumps here!
