Royal Robbins was one of the best climbers ever. He and his wife were well-known in the Sierra Nevada climbing circles in the 1960s. They were part of a group of climbers who developed the term “clean climbing,” aiming to leave minimal traces on rock faces.

Royal climbed and paddled not only in America but worldwide, always returning to Yosemite Valley.
