The Down Puffer Jacket protects you from the bite of frost on cold winter days. This is certainly not an ultralight down jacket, as it is well-insulated with plenty of down. The outer fabric is Pertex polyamide, familiar from many outdoor products, offering protection against wind while breathing well.
