World Scout Boys Badge The mark is commonly known as the promise mark, due to the time the mark was received. Characters in the new and old patrol program: In the current scout program , this token is obtained as soon as the scout promise is made for the first time. Usually this promise is a wolf puppy given as a wolf cub. In the old program the scout pledge was usually given about six months after the boy went on guard, at about 10 years of age.
