Placing an order through the Scandinavian Outdoor online store is simple and secure. The final step of the process is the order confirmation, which signifies your commitment to pay for the order.

Upon successfully completing your purchase, you will receive an order confirmation via email. This confirmation contains key details about your order, so we recommend saving it for your records.

Order Modifications

If you need to modify your order, please contact our customer service team as soon as possible. Please note that changes can only be made before the order has been processed and dispatched.

Order Cancellation

To cancel your order, you can either log into your customer account (if you made the purchase as a registered customer) or contact our customer service team directly. Please note that cancellations can only be made before your order has been processed and dispatched.

Prices and Payment

All prices listed on our website are in euros (EUR) and include applicable value-added tax (VAT) for orders within the European Union (EU). For orders outside the EU, VAT is not applied, unless otherwise stated. The simplest way to check your applicable pricing is to select your country of delivery from our country selection tool. Delivery costs are not included in the product prices; please refer to the "Delivery" section for more details.

If you are ordering from outside the EU, please note that while you do not pay VAT through our website, you may still be required to pay local VAT, customs duties, and other applicable fees upon delivery, depending on your country’s regulations. All customs fees, taxes, and duties are your responsibility. Logistics companies may also charge a service fee for declaring your items to customs on your behalf. The value of your package will be accurately declared on the customs forms, either on the package itself or transmitted digitally, as required by the authorities. Please note that our shipping system is fully automated, and we cannot alter customs forms or mark orders as "gift," "sample," or "educational." The contents and value of your order will be listed correctly, and we cannot lower the declared value.

Special offers and promotions are valid for the time period specified on the website or while stock lasts, unless stated otherwise. We reserve the right to correct any pricing errors that may occur on our website.

Our online store uses Klarna Checkout and PayPal as payment service providers. Depending on your delivery country, Klarna may offer several payment options, which will be displayed after you enter your personal details at checkout. The required identification information may vary based on the specific order and customer.

To provide Klarna’s payment options, we may share your personal data, such as contact and order information, with Klarna during the purchase process. Klarna will use this information to assess your eligibility for their payment methods and to tailor the available options to you. Your personal data will be processed in accordance with Klarna’s privacy notice.

Delivery

Scandinavian Outdoor ships to various countries worldwide. Depending on your location, the delivery service may be provided by Postnord, GLS, Posti, DHL Express, or UPS, with local partners possibly handling the final delivery within your country.

We aim to dispatch orders for in-stock products within 1-2 weekdays after the order is placed. For items that are temporarily out of stock or made-to-order, dispatch times range from approximately 5-10 business days or up to 14-90 business days, depending on the product.

Once your order has been dispatched from our warehouse, you will receive a delivery confirmation email with a tracking link, allowing you to monitor the shipment’s progress.

For products that are in stock, the typical delivery time ranges from 3 to 14 weekdays after shipping, depending on the destination country.

Delivery Fee

The delivery fee varies depending on the selected shipping method and destination. The total delivery cost will be calculated and displayed during checkout. For the latest information on available delivery methods and associated fees, please visit our Delivery Terms.

Picking Up the Order

Packages delivered to pick-up points can be collected within the timeframe specified by the respective transport companies. Typically, our carriers in Finland store packages at pick-up points or vending machines for 7 to 10 days. Once your package has arrived at the pick-up location, you can verify the exact pick-up window for your order via the tracking link provided.

For orders designated for in-store pick-up at our locations in Finland, we will hold the package for up to 14 days.

For international orders, deliveries may be made either to your home or to a local pick-up point, depending on the destination country. The local carrier may handle the final delivery and may offer specific instructions regarding collection or home delivery. For more detailed information, please refer to the Delivery Terms section on our website.

Uncollected Orders

If an order is not collected from the pick-up point within the designated timeframe or is refused by the customer, it will be returned to our warehouse. Please note that for orders outside the EU, in the event of a refusal to receive the package, the customer will be responsible for covering the return shipping costs, which amount to €50.

We reserve the right to retain the original delivery fee for international orders that are returned to our warehouse without prior notice from the customer. In such cases, the refund will not include the delivery charges

Late Delivery

If your delivery is significantly delayed, you have the right to cancel the purchase contract without incurring additional charges. However, Scandinavian Outdoor is not liable for delays caused by factors beyond its control, such as unforeseen circumstances or third-party carrier issues. In such cases, we are not obligated to offer compensation unless otherwise agreed between the parties or required by applicable law.

Damages and Risks During Transport

Scandinavian Outdoor is responsible for your order until it has been delivered to you. If you receive a package or product that appears to be damaged, please contact our customer service team by email as soon as possible. When reporting damage, please include photos of the damaged package and/or product to assist with the resolution.

When returning a product, you are responsible for ensuring its safe return. We recommend using a shipping method that provides tracking to confirm the shipment's progress and delivery.

Right of Cancellation and Returns

We offer private customers a 100-day right of cancellation for online store orders. This 100-day period begins from the day of purchase.

Please note that the right of cancellation does not apply to:

  • Hygiene products

  • Engraved or customized products

  • Made-to-order items

  • Fixed installations (e.g., ski bindings)

Additionally, gift cards cannot be returned or exchanged for cash.

Exercising Your Right of Cancellation

To exercise your right of cancellation, you must notify us of your decision to cancel the transaction. You can do this by:

  1. Logging into your account on our website and submitting a return notification through your account.

  2. Using the return portal available on our website.

Please note that you cannot cancel the transaction by simply not picking up the order or refusing to receive it.

The right of cancellation applies to unused and saleable products. The product must be returned with its price information, tags, and original packaging, all in clean and intact condition. For returns involving shoes, please avoid attaching any glue or tape directly to the surface of the box.

Returning the Product

For detailed and updated return instructions, please visit: Return Instructions.

If a returned product is received in a dirty condition, we reserve the right to deduct up to 15% of the product’s price to cover cleaning costs, with a maximum deduction of 50 euros. Products that are difficult to clean or contain hair or pet fur are considered unsellable, and in such cases, we cannot offer a refund for the product. For guidance on the condition of returned products, please refer to the instructions provided by the Finnish Competition and Consumer Agency.

Note: The 100-day right of return applies only to purchases made through our online store. For in-store purchases, a 14-day right of return applies.

Repayment

Upon cancellation of the transaction, we will refund all payments received from you in connection with the purchase, including standard shipping costs. However, we are not obligated to cover additional shipping costs if you select a delivery method other than the least expensive option we offer. Please note that if you return only part of your order, shipping costs will not be refunded.

We will process your refund without undue delay and no later than 14 days after we receive the returned items. Refunds will be issued using the same payment method you used for the original transaction.

Exchange of Products

We do not offer automatic exchanges for returned products. If you wish to exchange an item, please return the original product and then place a new order through our online store.

Depreciation Deduction

In accordance with the Consumer Protection Act in Finland, the right of cancellation applies only to unused and saleable products. Returned items must be in their original packaging and condition.

You are permitted to try or test the product to assess its nature, properties, and functionality without forfeiting your right of cancellation. However, if the product is tested beyond what is considered reasonable and necessary, you may be liable for any resulting deterioration. For more details on returning products, please refer to our Returning a Product section.

Right of Complaint

As a private customer, you have the right to file a complaint about a faulty product. This right covers original defects, transport damage, and any discrepancies from what was agreed upon between you and Scandinavian Outdoor, or other demonstrable errors. Scandinavian Outdoor is not responsible for defects arising from improper use, accidents, or other issues caused by the buyer. Normal wear and tear is not considered a defect.

To exercise your right of complaint, you must report the issue within a reasonable time frame, which is generally considered to be within two (2) months from the discovery of the fault.

If you notify us of an issue within this period, you are primarily entitled to have the product repaired to its original condition or replaced with a new item. In certain cases, you may also have the right to cancel the transaction and receive a refund or a price reduction equivalent to the amount paid for the product.

For complaints, please first submit a notification on our website and provide a detailed description of the fault. We also recommend including a photo that shows the error.

Reservations

Scandinavian Outdoor reserves the right to cancel the contract without providing a refund if the customer has made a purchase in bad faith based on incorrect information provided on our website that the customer knew or should have known was incorrect. This includes but is not limited to, inaccuracies regarding product prices or quantities.

Force Majeure

Scandinavian Outdoor is not liable for failing to fulfill its contractual obligations in situations beyond its control, including those that could not be reasonably anticipated or avoided. The customer is not entitled to compensation for damages resulting from delays or errors caused by circumstances outside Scandinavian Outdoor's influence, which could not have been reasonably avoided. Such circumstances include, but are not limited to, official actions or omissions, new or amended legislation, labour disputes, war or threats of war, fire, explosion, flood, natural disasters, or major accidents.

Disagreements

Disputes between Scandinavian Outdoor and the customer will be resolved in a legal court. If the matter is brought before the Consumer Dispute Board, Scandinavian Outdoor will adhere to the board's decision.

For consumer advice, you can contact the Finnish Competition and Consumer Agency through their website at www.kkv.fi/kuluttajaneuvonta or by calling +358 2 9553 6901.

You may also file a complaint via the European Commission’s online dispute resolution portal, available here.
