The founder’s principles
Cam Brensinger founded Nemo after spending years in various destinations as a passionate climbing enthusiast. The trips taught him to appreciate the excitement associated with outdoor activities, but also the therapeutic effect, connection with others, and meaning.
The principle known as the “Tyrol Declaration” of the International Climbing and Mountaineering Federation in particular made an impression on Brensinger, as he realized he had been involved with the very same approach on his own. A short quote: “The quality of the experience, and how we go about solving the problem, is more important than whether the problem is solved.” This also gave rise to the principle used in Nemo products: more quality, not more quantity.
Responsible production
By 2026, Nemo will have reduced its carbon dioxide emissions by 39% compared to 2020. The goal is to halve emissions by 2030.
