A multi-fuel stove is the choice for those who camp year-round. Using gasoline as fuel is common on winter trips, since gas canisters lose much of their efficiency when the temperature drops below freezing. MSR is one of the most popular manufacturers of such stoves, and also offers spare parts and service kits.
Made since the year 1998, the MSR Dragonfly multifuel stove is a reliable and adjustable liquid fuel pressure stove. A proper flame controller allows more power settings than just “on” and “off” - a crucial feature for actual cooking, but not something you can take for granted in stoves like this. The Dragonfly has been on market for years and won several stove tests.
The pot stands are suitable for many pot and pan sizes - for instance, a 28 cm frying pan common in kitchen use works with the Dragonfly without issues. The stove is part of MSR’s “Cook” stove range, meaning that, in addition to boiling water, it is suitable for cooking due to its excellent flame control and broad flame.
