At the heart of these shoes is the striking speedARC midsole, which is also visible externally. It combines FloatPro+ cushioning foam with a nylon FlexPlate plate, resulting in energy-returning performance – according to the manufacturer, the sole doubles the energy return compared to leading traditional hiking shoes.
In addition to comfort and shock absorption, the speedARC Surge Boa also offers speed. It is Merrell’s most athletic hiking shoe.
