Women’s top of the line hiking boots for the most demanding use. Non-membrane model. Lundhags has been making their no-nonsense footwear for decades with the same burly recipe: a tough, thick rubber lower is sewn together twith a leather shaft. This means the parts that spend more time wet, are completely waterproof, while the breathable leather shaft enables proper tightening. Since there is no membrane, the boots tend to last for ages even in work use.
Lundhags boots are worn with more socks than many other boot types. This is because the boot is used as a shell, and has much less padding than other hiking boots. It is advisable to wear two pairs of thick socks on top of each other, with the top pair being a very thick, traditional wool sock.
Care of Lundhags shell boots: Clean the boots regularly from loose dirt and dry them at room temperature – also remove the insoles to dry after use. Treat the shaft parts with wax or grease for water repellency when you see that the leather requires care. This is not done on new boots – the first treatment should be after about 100 km of use (depending on conditions). Do not wax or grease “just in case” / too often, so that the seams do not stay wet and the leather does not start to “bag” / lose its natural properties (as the warranty cobbler puts it). The waterproof lower part is not treated with any product – cleaning is enough. Replace insoles and laces when necessary.
Register your Lundhags shell boots according to the instructions included in the shoe box – this way you will have a warranty covering manufacturing and material defects, with no time limit. Note! Lundhags handles warranty cases based on whether the boots have been maintained according to the care instructions – and this will indeed show on the boots over time.
