Hiking gear hire — Rental shop

You don't have to buy all your outdoor gear. You can rent it too. Buying everything at once gets expensive, especially when you're just starting out. And if you only need a tent a few times a year, renting may make more sense than buying one.

You can book easily through our rental service and pick up your gear from our Forum, Tammisto, Pirkkala or Kuninkoja stores.

The Scandinavian Outdoor rental service is easy to use. You'll find it here. First, choose the store you want to rent from. You'll then see that store's rental range, which usually includes tents, rucksacks, sleeping mats, stoves, trekking poles and bike bags.

Once you've picked a product, you can choose a specific model for some items, then the quantity, and finally the rental period. At this point the booking calendar opens and you can select the dates you need.

Then just add the product to your basket. You can pay in advance and collect your rental from the store you chose when the time comes.

Remember that you're responsible for the gear you rent. It needs to come back undamaged, dry and clean. A tent, for example, often gets damp even when it hasn't rained. If it's packed away wet for a long time, it can even go mouldy. You can dry a tent indoors or outdoors. Spread it out loosely so air can circulate, and turn it now and then so every part dries properly.
