Gore-Tex – Guaranteed to keep you dry

Gore-Tex is the most reliable membrane material in our range. It can take extensive use without losing its water protection even after several washes. Gore-Tex membrane is never a coating, but always a layer in itself - often laminated to the surface material.

Each Gore-Tex seam is sealed waterproof with Gore-Seam tape.

Originally made for use by astronauts, Gore-Tex is made of PTFE material and it contains millions of microscopically small pores, letting water vapor out but keeping wind and rain on the outside.

Two or three layer? Two layer garments have the Gore-Tex membrane laminated to their surface fabric, and there's a separate liner fabric or mesh in addition. Three layer garments, again, have their surface material, the Gore-Tex membrane and a liner fabric laminated all into one, creating a very durable and expedition worthy. Two layer garments tend to be softer to the touch and more comfortable in every day use.

Did you know? Gore-Tex is always inside the structures of a garment or shoe. The surface materials of Gore-Tex products are also impregnated for water repellent qualities, but the membrane is sheltered between the surface material and liner.
